Stories of the Strings - Our Beautiful Boy

I want to express my most sincere gratitude to Rosemary and her husband for sharing this amazing Story of the Strings attached to custom creations pictured below.

No parent should ever have to bury their child. This beautiful and heartfelt story reminds us of the importance of family and of finding ways to keep our loved ones close even when they are gone. It also reminds us of the importance of finding ways to cope with this heartache by honouring the beautiful parts of life our loved ones lived.

Philip was 4 years old when he started taking lessons. He always loved music. I think he was dancing before he learned to walk. When he was two he had a toy guitar that he loved. When music played he would dance around with that toy guitar. Such special memories!

When he was 4 we bought him an acoustic child’s guitar. He started lessons. At the time we were living overseas. When he was 7 we moved back to the states. I enrolled him in lessons again. But this time he asked for an electric guitar. I just loved seeing him grow musically!

This particular guitar is the one he played the most into his twenties and therefore, it holds a very special place in my heart. Unfortunately Philip struggled with addiction. He lost his battle when he was 29.

We were very close and I miss him terribly! I was on a mission to find a jewelry designer that could make some pieces from his guitar strings. Luckily I found Do Re Mi Bracelets etc. We now have beautiful keepsakes in honor of our beautiful boy Philip. We will cherish them forever.

Thank you from deep in my heart!

Rosemary
